ERASED

POETRY IN VOICE

ERASED

By Nadia Irshād

New Paragraph

As this spirit was once consumed in love

For loves sake, asking nothing

So now you will be consumed

And labour to grasp the past

that no longer exists, it has been liberated

You do not know, this breath erases

Not in all your lifetimes

Did your eyes happen upon the deep

aqueous abyss of these irises

Nor had you ever met

A being from this far away, a dimension

A realm locked

You sucked the air, filled to excess

full on sacred sunshine, life and goodness

Frozen,

Still,

you are blind,

Your soul cannot see its violation
