INSTRUCTIONS: HOW TO KNOW YOU CAN TRUST SOMEONE

By Nadia Irshād

New Paragraph

Here, in this manual, you will find step by step instructions.

These instructions are unlike those you normally encounter.

You have happened upon a guide for your soul.

A guide to lead you to understanding who you can trust.

This is a map for those who seek.

Read it first with your eyes,

then again with your intellect,

before you finally approach it with your heart.

Your heart will know what all of this truly means.

Look for held hands, between words and actions.

Look for them in simple things. In tiny promises.

They are seeds.

Listen to the self portraits they draw.

Listen to the illustration of their ego. What does it say?

Take notice of what they consume.

Not only physically but the text, visuals, voices, and the philosophers they admire.

What hangs on their walls?

Keep your eyes open. Everyone worships.

How does their spirit react to the presence of children?

How do they give?

What they give is a reflection of what they see in you.

Gifts are not important for their own sake.

Gifts and generous acts signal being seen, or unseen.

They can also hold venom. Those items are cursed.

Do not allow them into your home.

Observe how they arrive to and into the world.

Describe the facade they create.

Are they glued to it or does their story live as a growing breathing tree that transforms and flourishes?

Inspect the roots.

Approach the art of knowing them through their people.

Not only to see them through their chosen multiple reflections but to listen.

Watch them with your entire being. Feel the intricacies.

Can you sense if they find contentment in understanding themselves the most intelligent in the room?

Or does their soul desire lift off?

Answer, over time what has changed in them?

Are they inspired? Do they hone their spirit and cultivate their inner garden?

Do they acknowledge the vast ocean of their own potential?

Do they recognize the gift of this life through dedicated practice?

Do they seek in areas uncategorized, unoccupied and not their own?

In languages, histories, peoples, places and art?

If you asked them to listen to the beat of the Alhambra. Would they? Or would they laugh at you?

Can they decipher the difference between the silence of the Swiss Alps and the Sahara?

Are they curious to know the root of all language?

It is important to understand from which lens their eye beholds beauty.

Wherein you will find who they define as human and what they define as divinity, as civilization.

Is their spirit fluid and open or fixed and unmovable?

Do they find sweetness in text, sounds or images?

Can you see that they, in their own way, recognize the sacred?

Does the sound of a morning birds song bring them to tears?

What words do they choose when they converse with you?

How do they acknowledge your gifts?

Can they recognize your power?

Do you feel them kneel in the presence of ever giving life and goodness?

Do they guard you and your wounds like a Spartan warrior?

This will tell you for whom they fight, in which army they are enlisted.

Do you find yourself guarding your insides from oncoming violence? War?

What feelings emerge in your body when they approach?

Drill inside you until the answer is as clear as a call from a minaret.

Close your eyes and hold their spirit. Are they open? Or are they shut?

This is how you build a dimensional knowing based on truth. A monument.

Beware of a flat screen, a 2-Dimensional object, soothsayers and great orators.

Darkness delights on devouring light.

And you my love, are not only light but Fire.
