New Paragraph
would you rather live or die
is like asking would you rather love or be loved
would you rather give than take
rather fly or sink
to love is to participate
to consent to sound and feel your inner quake
to be your very best
inclined towards sacrifice
to lay martyr before an oncoming train
sprawled out in submission to the track
to love is better than to be loved
the loved one is not fully awake
just spoon fed
living in a daze, wistful
chewing on a thought, ever-distracted tiring swiftly
the one who is loved is adrift
and could be a speck, a mite,
an image that never ever exists
none of this matters because the lover chooses to live
